I'm Nicole Obih, LCSW, offering online couples therapy to partners anywhere in Texas and Florida. All relationship types are welcome, including LGBTQ+, polyamorous, open, and culturally diverse couples.

What Couples Come In For
Communication that turns into arguments or silence
Rebuilding trust after a betrayal or rupture
Feeling disconnected, or more like roommates than a team
Different cultural backgrounds, family expectations, or ways of handling conflict
Opening a relationship, polyamory, or agreements that need updating
Big life changes like a move, a new job, or deciding about kids
Codependency and losing yourself in the relationship
What's Often Underneath
Most recurring fights aren't really about the dishes. They're about feeling unheard, unsafe, or alone, and about patterns each of you learned long before you met. Once you can see the pattern, you can stop fighting each other and start working on it together.
How I Work With Couples
I won't take sides or decide who's right. We'll slow conflict down, name the cycle you get stuck in, and practice saying what you actually need. I bring culture and identity into the room, because family, race, and queerness shape how couples love and fight. Sessions draw on proven methods like CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
What Can Change
Early on, many couples feel relief just having a place to talk without it blowing up. Over time, the goal is shorter fights, quicker repair, clearer agreements, and feeling like a team again.
Couples Therapy Fees
Couples sessions are $200 for 60 minutes. I accept most insurance plans through Headway and Alma, but plans often cover couples therapy differently than individual therapy, so check your coverage when you book. See services and fees.

Do you work with polyamorous and open relationships? Yes. I won't treat your relationship structure as the problem. See also LGBTQ+ affirming therapy.
Is what we share confidential? Yes, with a few legal exceptions that I'll explain at the start. Details are in the FAQ.
