You Deserve Therapy That Truly Sees You
Affirming virtual therapy for LGBTQ+ adults navigating identity, anxiety, trauma, and the journey to living authentically.
Therapy Where Your Whole Self Is Welcome
Finding a therapist who understands the complexity of LGBTQ+ experiences—not just in theory, but through lived experience—can feel impossible. You shouldn't have to educate your therapist about what it means to navigate the world as a queer person. You shouldn't have to explain why certain microaggressions hurt, why coming out is never a one-time event, or why your identity intersects with other parts of who you are.
At Celestial Shift Therapy, you don't have to.
I'm Nicole Obih, a Black queer therapist who creates space for LGBTQ+ adults to explore identity, heal from trauma, manage anxiety and depression, and step into their most authentic selves—without fear of judgment or misunderstanding, or of having to perform "appropriate" queerness.
Whether you're questioning your identity, navigating a transition, healing from discrimination, working through internalized homophobia or transphobia, or simply seeking support from someone who gets it, you're in the right place.
What Makes Therapy Truly Affirming?
True affirmation goes beyond rainbow flags in June. It's a practice, not a performance. In our work together, affirming therapy means:
✨ Your identity is never pathologized
Your sexual orientation, gender identity, and relationship structure aren't problems to fix—they're parts of you to honor and explore.
✨ Intersectionality is centered
Being LGBTQ+ doesn't exist in a vacuum. Your race, culture, socioeconomic background, disability, and other identities all shape your experience, and we honor that complexity.
✨ You're the expert on your experience
I'll never assume your journey looks like anyone else's. Your understanding of your identity takes priority.
✨ Trauma-informed understanding
I recognize that discrimination, rejection, and minority stress have real mental health impacts. We work to heal those wounds, not ignore them.
✨ No pressure to be "out" or conform
Your timeline is your own. Therapy supports where you are right now, not where society thinks you should be.
